What do I do if high levels of Radon are recorded?

If you find that you have levels above the current 'Action Level' (ie, 200 becquerels for the home or 400 becquerels for the workplace) then you will need to ensure you have work carried out to reduce radon gas levels.

Radon Check can provide advice, expertise and installation of the appropriate equipment to successfully reduce the radon levels within your home or business.


 
An active radon sump, fitted with a fan, is the most effective way to reduce indoor radon levels. Sumps work best under solid floors and under suspended floors if the ground is covered with concrete or a membrane. Occasionally, passive sumps without a fan may reduce radon levels.

 

If the floor area is large, the soil is not very permeable or their are dividing walls then more than one sump may be required.
